Digitization of short-time work benefit application

In close cooperation with SECO we realized a new online application platform with fully integrated back-end workflow for efficient processing, approval, and payments of unemployment benefit applications. The platform is used by all cantons across Switzerland.

How does it work?

The applicant fills an online request including required attachments and sends his request to the responsible cantonal unemployment fund by pressing a button. Any media breaks from downloading, printing, scanning of pdf, Word, or Excel application sheets is prevented by design.

The clerk at the administration immediately receives notification of a new application. He opens the same digital form the applicant has just sent and reviews it. Directly within the form, the clerk can pose questions back to the applicant, correct fields, and send the application form back for correction/completion to the applicant.

The applicant then receives a notification with a request for correction and makes the appropriate adjustments and/or confirms his or her entries.

The course of each changed value (or each supplement) is visually traceable at all times.

After the clerk has checked and approved the corrected application, an automatic import into the filing system takes place at the unemployment insurance fund.
